Saucony just can’t seem stop with the amazing collaborations. This time they have teamed with the UK footwear store Offspring to bring a fresh take on the iconic Shadow 6000. This collaboration pays homage to both Saucony and Offspring, with the packs name “Running since…96”. This slogan is taken from Saucony’s ‘We Run’ slogan and the 1996 representing the first year Offspring opened its doors for business on Neal Street in Covent Garden, not too far from “where they now share a space with Saucony ‘Story of Running’ pop-up store“. Some of us hope that the pop-up store stays open for longer as we can’t all make it down to London.
Not only is there a touch of nostalgia with these trainers, it is also the first time Saucony Originals will be producing a fully unisex collaboration. Both colourways will be made available in both Men’s and Women’s sizes.
Saucony and Offspring are bringing two different colourways in the Shadow 6000’s which take inspiration from the streets of Covent Garden, and that of the Saucony archive. We can see that there will be a grey offering as well one in a navy. Both pairs make use of soft pig skin suede, with reflective 3m on the tongue, We can also see pink highlights which cover the Saucony 3 dots and across the branding on the tongue with hints of turquoise.
Both of these come with a speckled midsole, which you may say brings the trainer to life, obviously not literally, just saying that it adds a different dimension. And in case you forget who bought you these great sneakers, there is branding of both parties involved on the back of the shoe.
From the picture below we can also see that the insole has the branding of both Offspring and Saucony. For those who like to keep their insoles in good condition and do not want the branding it to fade (just for the novelty factor), it may be a good idea to purchase separate insoles.
These will be available from all Offspring stores nationwide from 10am on Saturday 5th of April 2014, and Offspring.co.uk from 10am UK time on Monday the 7th of April 2014
